In my experience with Fredericktown Local Schools I had an excellent time with with the school and staff. The school building and facility is clean and safe for people. Most of the staff is very nice and polite to people although there was some very big confusion with the board with starting school which was hard to get information from for the school year. The school has excellent clubs and sports such as band, drama club, and cross country with many parents involved. I felt mostly prepared form learning form teachers for preparing for my future.
The school does have a decent facility and some good teachers. However, it is lacking strong, yet cooperative, leadership. Much of the staff is not able to prepare students and a poor work ethic is accepted by the majority of the teachers which leaves kids with a terrible approach to life. They also assign a lot of busy work as homework and most of the test grades reflect this. That being said, there is a handful of teachers who do care and are good at teaching. Unfortunately, many of these staff members are bullied by their bosses and forced to offer alternatives for kids failing classes that they actually deserve to fail. The school also has sexism peppered throughout. Girls dress codes are hit the hardest in the classroom and in sports and none of the administrators find any issues with this and will shut down any conversations about them. Overall, the school is not doing much to have a forward-thinking mindset which really disables it and the students.
Teachers and staff are usually very understanding and strive to see their students succeed. The school building itself is almost always kept clean. For a small school, we have a diverse amount of activities for students to partake in. Along with that, there are many clubs to participate in and guidance is extraordinarily helpful if a student would like to start a new club. Everyone is very kind and has huge hearts and never fail to help someone out on a bad day. Being a smaller school our music programs are absolutely exceptional. Overall, I would say it is an amazing place to study during high school and honestly I have absolutely loved every minute of being there.
