I love almost all of my teachers, they have been very valuable in helping me become the best version of myself and I will never be able to thank them enough. I am also grateful to go to a school with so much diversity amongst the student body. Additionally, having the opportunity to take AP and IB classes is amazing in terms of being able to challenge myself with rigorous classes.
The public schools in Frederick are average, many schools in the area could use some improvement, but there are still some good schools. Overall, the schools are average at best.
Eight years ago, my family went through their school system. Some of them had great experiences and some did not. I felt that some of the teachers, counselors, and administration didn't care enough to assist students and parents in need. Always wanting to suspend the student, expel for poor behaviors instead of talking to the students, talking to parents, asking the right questions, forming groups, etc. There is only one middle school, high, and elementary so I couldn't transfer them within the same county. If I could have home schooled my children, nieces, and nephew I would have. My work schedule wouldn't allow it. I even had different issues with teachers and students bullying my children and never resolved to our satisfaction. Hopefully things have changed.
My son is a student there. We had a very good experience with his Kindergarten and first-grade teachers but his second-grade teacher is a lazy one. I think because this is her last year working there. I wish they accept a higher number of students at their clubs. My son applied last year and he was accepted to the coding club but this year he was not. The food is good but it could be healthier. They offer a gifted program only for second-grade students. I wish they do the same for first grade and Kindergarten.
Outdated, in compassionate, no sensible conscious of reason, refuse to evolve, unhelpful, Stagnant, a frustrating environment. Willing to prevent students Academically but heighten to discipline. Bus drivers included.
I've gone to city schools my whole life and have been to each school, overall its a pretty good school system. The food is great and most of the teachers are really nice. Administrators are good too.
I’ve been in the Fredericksburg Cityschool system since kindergarten and it had provided for a safe learning environment. I believe that they give great opportunities to students before they go on to the workforce.
I like the grading scale we use here at james Monroe high school and the diversity of students and faculty that are there. I would change the time that school begins back to 8:05.
The elementary schools are nice with great teachers; when you get to middle school and high school you see where their priorities lay, with the sport times.
