Frederick County Public Schools system is a contains nothing more than average schools. The schools within this district have their typical goods and bad, but for the most part they are typical public schools.

On paper, the academics look very appeasing to a parents eye. Most Frederick County Public Schools offer AP, honors, and regular classes. They also offer multiple foreign language and culture classes. However, the down fall is due to the teachers. Most teachers do the complete opposite of what they are supposed to do; nothing. Throughout all areas of study within the Frederick County Public School System there are teachers who would rather talk about their own interests rather than teach academics. This leads to an environment of resentful students who are not getting the education that is required in today's society.

I think we have a great school system with great administration and teachers. We have a great sports, clubs an many other after school activities. Every teacher cares for you and makes sure you are doing well and that you understand the material. Only thing I would change is giving our teachers more freedom to teach how they see fit! Teachers know best.
The two things that I would like to see change in Frederick County Public Schools can be lumped into one thing: there is way too much focus on athletics. Academics are very important to the school system but not as much as athletics, at least in high school. And art doesn't matter at all, especially theatre. The drama department at SHS basically has 6 crumpled up ones and an old PB&J. Half the time the students have to buy their own costumes. And nobody from the student body comes to support them. Academics overall are very good though and there are so many extracurriculars.
