My experience in the Francis Howell School District was very pleasant, eventful, encouraging, and optimistic. The district has amazing school staff that you can connect with personally which helps grows relationships and feel comfortable with people who lead you to success. The district pays close attention to to everything whether it be sports, the arts, and clubs. They express variety and growth as a plethora of these in-school/after school activities help us realize our potential to find our future jobs that fits our dreams and goals. This district focuses on addressing and properly handling efforts to encourage diversity among different genders, sexualities, and religions. They also handle real world issues like suicide awareness, drug awareness, mental health, etc. The Francis Howell School District is a place where I can trust the enhancement and growth of future leaders with positive influences that CAN reach nationwide as well as worldwide!
They have great instructional education as well as opportunities to participate in extracurriculars like FIRST robotics. I do wish the High School had an orchestra though, because the surrounding districts do but ours doesn't. I also would like to see less money going to the football team so that it can be spread around to other sports and activities. The schools feel safe, and I appreciate all the focus that is put into making school a safe and happy environment for the kids.
The community gets SO much for their tax dollars in this district. They have top-notch teachers, despite several pay freezes over the years. Lots of administrators “wear multiple hats” and do phenomenal work without the support staff found in similarly-sized districts in the area. Great opportunities for students and very professional, caring adults amid a community that gets more than they pay for and more than they have supported. It’s astounding that so many great educators hang on, despite the challenges that some in the community throw in their way.
