The atmosphere is incredible at Fort Osage R-1 -- what more could I say that hasn't already been said? The staff and teachers are amazing, the activities are really engaging, and the students are awesome! Not only that, we have had famous baseball player Albert Pujols walk through our doors on his way to becoming one of the greatest baseball players in MLB history!
I absolutely love being here, this school has accommodated me throughout the four years that I’ve been there. I couldn’t imagine what my high school experience would’ve been like if I would’ve attended a different high school. My teachers, peers and staff members have given me the things that I need and want no matter the circumstances, and they have prepared me and supported me through whatever I wanted to do whether that be in school or in college no matter what. I can not give enough thanks to this school!
The selection of classes offered, teachers & activities are wonderful. The only changes I’d suggest are adding club sports to cover sports not offered by the school (swimming, lacrosse, etc.) as well as updating & expanding the school buildings around the district (they just re-built the football stadium & made several improvements to some of their buildings last year but a lot of the buildings are still dated). When it comes to sports, FO is at the top of our division - last year the football team went to state, basketball season was one of the best in school history & baseball, volleyball, soccer & track are already starting this year right! There’s tons of other clubs & activities to choose from & many opportunities to be a part of the community. Communication between the administration, teachers, students & parents is amazing & they’ve adopted a lot of new tech into the district. All around great experiences at this school!
