Overall, this district is really good. I’ve been attending the fortmill schools since pre-k, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! I went to the original Riverview when I was younger and they had GREAT teachers! Middle school was a very good experience too. I went to Banks Trail in the 3rd year of its opening and they had some top notch teachers as well! I attend FMHS, and it’s really good as well. The only really downside is the school is fairly old. They did renovate part of the main office, but the some of the hallways, classrooms and especially bathrooms need to be updated. Also it’s kind of weird because they added the old Riverview elementary school as part of a wing for freashman. I wish they wouldn’t do that because they aren’t able to socialize with the upperclassman, and I think that basically gives them another year of middle school and not high school. I would give the whole district a 8/10, only because the high school needs updating.

Lacking in experience or drive is how I would describe some of the teachers. Last year my child's teacher was teaching a MS sport and Science which made her miss some classes. Another teacher was constantly taking days off and the kids had different subs. There are fees which must be paid before your child can participate in certain classes. No extra help after school. There is favoritism going on. If your in the PTO and feed the staff, they will pull strings for your child. It looks to be very common in this district. My child likes the district because there is little homework and he likes his teachers this year.
I am currently a Nation Ford High School senior. Overall my experience with the Fort Mill School District has been great. The classes they offer are so diverse, there is something for everyone, Nation Ford has classes ranging from automotive technology all the way to college leveled math classes. The teachers at Nation Ford are like no other, they will do anything and everything they can do to try and help someone if they are struggling in a class. Nation Ford has so many different clubs to choose from they have a club called the international club that celebrates the different cultures they have there, they also have a club that helps with community service, that is just a little taste of the sixty plus clubs they have to choose from. The administration at Nation Ford is one that will work day and night for their students. Overall the Fort Mill School District is amazing, and I will truly miss it.
