Fort Dodge Community School District Reviews

3 reviews
There are several teachers specifically at middle school and high school level that double as coaches and those teachers specifically slack in the classroom and spend a significant amount of time on sports as opposed to school. I had a decent time at the Fort Dodge schools, but only because I made it that way for myself. Fort Dodge also has a really bad tendancy of giving students that come from specific families in the town special treatment. In other words it is elitist and it is in no way inclusive. The administration is elitist and does not care about anything other than the money in their pockets. There are clubs and activities and if you get involved then you have a better time at school, but the elitist behavior among athletes and coaches is still present and it the school does nothing to incentivize involvement among students. Sports are subpar for a school district of this size.. The counselors are apethetic and take little to zero interest in any given students future.

I enjoyed Fort Dodge Senior High and it's wide variety of classes to take. However, coming in as a transfer student I was uninformed on many issues and opportunities I could have had. Communication is a category that need improvement in the Fort Dodge Community School District.
I felt very safe and welcomed in this school. The courses challenged me enough to learn the most I could, but not enough to detour me from feeling motivated.
