There wasn't anything there for teachers and faculty but a pay check. The "student readiness" really was on the students to want it themselves not that the teachers actually wanted to help.
It is a good school I just really wish their art program was better. I wish we had a stage ad more opportunities to pursue performing arts. I also wish that the counselors would be more connected to the students and not so hard to reach.
I attended Fillmore High School all of my 4 years of senior high. All staff members are very involved in the students' journey to college. We are all provided with sources to succeed in the future.
Fillmore Unified School District has a tight knit community. They offer many things to engage the students and help with learning. They try to allow each student an opportunity to find what they are good at. However, their main problem is safety and back up plans. The schools do not have a good enough plan of keeping each sctudent safe. They are do not have any plans when there are emergencies or seem to have basic emergency training that may not fit our schools.
Being in the Fillmore Unified School District for the last 12 years I would have to say that this district only cares about the money that comes out of student education. They hire teachers that do not even care about trying to help students further their education. There has been a lot of bullying and drugs around the schools. Administration doesn't do anything to try and solve this problem. They should get teachers that want to help students. There are some teachers that really want to help students and it shows in how they act towards the students.
Fillmore is a friendly place but it lacks the help for children to succeed. More help is needed for the children. Friendlier staff is also needed as much of the staff is rude and do not offer much help.
I really love how the staff and teachers really help and push their students to become better citizens and be prepared for college.
Fillmore High School is a decent high school based on the opportunities it offers but the staff and teachers make it a better place. It does not have many opportunities such as those that the school surrounding us do but it does the best it can with what it has. For example, the staff in our college and career center hosts many workshops to help us with everything that we need college related. Also our principal has made it possible to have tutoring at lunch in the library to help those struggling with math. However, there are some teachers on campus who are not that great and their teaching methods could be improved. Nonetheless, it is a good school.
Fillmore Unified School District does not offer as much opportunities one would find at another district. However, the students in Fillmore make the most out of every little thing possible and continue to excel. The community is so close together like a family and encourage all young adults to go to college and represent the little town of Fillmore.
Fillmore High School is a school with little opportunities, but filled with a wonderful staff and faculty that'll help you reach your goals. I have been grateful to attend the many workshops coordinated by my school to help its students apply to college and file FAFSA. I can tell that this school is trying its hardest to feed its students imagination and creativity with the new amount of classes and clubs. There are, of course, some better teachers than others, but nevertheless, I've learned A LOT in my past three years here and I'm excited to be able to take my knowledge and skills learned here to college to be able to succeed.
I love the community and student involvement because this is a small community school. Teachers are very involved and take time to help each and every student. All students know each other by either a family or friend connection. The community of Fillmore, CA is great place to grow up and will definitely be a place for me to come back to and share my life experiences in hopes to give back what it gave to me.
My overall experience in Fillmore high school was great. I met a lot of amazing people that played a big role in my life. I also got close to many teachers that were very kind and helpful towards me. Fillmore has some of the best staff members and are always there to support you in everything.
Fillmore Unified School District offers many great resources and supplies and education. It contains many different Elementary schools depending on location of where you live to make life easier and convenient. It includes also a middle school and two different high schools. The schools do a good job of making you feel accepted. They put you in classes that are based on your abilities.Such as Honor and AP classes and regular classes.
What I like about this district is that when students ask for an activity. They try there best to accomplish it. For example, this year I joined ballet flokoriko . From my experience I seen that they have gone to the money wise more accomplished. For the following reason that they have gave enough money for each girl to have a skirt. Also how the Spanish teacher takes her life after school to teach us. Also they are providing for everything we need even though they have other clubs to support or other sport. Also I like that they communicate with the students parents of any changes their is. The most important is that they always support what the students think whats a good idea. I had the opportunity to play at an event and the people their was so friendly. They had lots of respect.Overall, I think this district has good thing but I also think they have more things to work on towards the schools.
My experience at this high school was really great because I had amazing friends that made my high school experience the best. What i would like to see more of at the school is more spirit.
The teachers at Fillmore are dedicated and proud, and they will stop at nothing to give their students the education and opportunities that they deserve.
I like the surrounding of the teachers and staffs. The environment is very safe and comfortable. I've had many supports from teachers that empored me to do better, which really helped me to succeed in the past two years.
