Field is a pretty small school district, which allows for smaller class sizes and more personal connections. Students are able to build one-on-one relationships with one another as well as with the staff. Everyone grows up knowing everybody, which creates a family-like atmosphere. However, there is a downside to being a smaller district. It is unable to provide a large variety of courses, nearly forcing advanced learners into College Credit Plus programs from local universities. There is also only 1 AP course offered currently, and not a large range of honors classes to take. The lack of higher level courses can put students at a disadvantage compared to student counterparts from other schools.
The school is pretty small which gives the teachers an easier chance to get close with students. The teachers are very caring to their students and the school is an overall great place to be at. For the income that the school receives, administration offers many options of courses including CCP classes which earn the students dual credit between high school and college. The schools are kept clean especially during the pandemic and COVID restrictions are applied to daily learning and they are enforced. The high school and middle school extracurriculars also show the elementary school their talent and give the young students different experiences to look forward to. Overall, the Field Local School District is a great school district to be at to earn a good education and develop great relationships with your peers.
The teachers honestly didn't seem to have the best interest of students in mind. There was always some kind of scandal going on, no diversity whatsoever within the student body and staff, and the administration did not make legitimate efforts to keep students safe. I did not feel prepared for college, nor was I taught significant life skills. The music and arts departments were neglected when compared to sports and the foreign language departments were arguably treated just as horribly. The facility always smelled odd or wasn't well-kept.
