While I may not have lived in Kentucky my whole life or grown up in this area, since moving to Lexington and beginning school at Frederick Douglass High School I have never felt more at home. Moving my senior year was tough, but I was never discouraged from getting the best education I could receive and was lucky enough to end up in an amazing school district that made the moving transition super easy. Administrators were very helpful when I registered for classes and I have many amazing teachers who have challenged and assisted me along my educational journey. Being a new school, there is always room for improvement; but teachers and administrators are well aware of this and have implemented new rules and policies to match the needs of the school. Overall, Fayette county is a great school district and I am very lucky to have moved here my senior year!

I loved my experience learning through Fayette County Public Schools. My school environments each felt like a community not only with my peers, but also with my teachers. They stay true to their slogan, "It's about kids.” I felt safe in my learning space and challenged in my classes. I feel that FCPS provides students with the most passionate and supportive teachers that strive to give us every special opportunity possible. I am very involved in any club/activity possible and there are plenty of options of any interest. These may range from student council, beta club, sign language club, and many more! This shows this county's dedication to teaching leadership, service, and providing opportunities to learn after the school day ends! There are various resources available through our library and knowledgeable teachers so that we may research, study, and become the best intellectuals that we can be. Through FCPS I have every resource I need to be successful in my future endeavors.
Fayette County Public Schools are great! We are blessed to live in this county. Our Superintendent Emmanuel 'Manny' Caulk is awesome. His core values great: Students come first; Victory is in the classroom; Leadership, capacity building, and collaboration for results are keys to success; and Families are our partners.
