Middle size school district that offers a good diversity of college prep and workforce prep classes. Community support is exceptional. Agriculture program excels above most other local schools. New buildings for all of the district provide a good structure. We love the location in the country but only a few miles from town. Teachers and staff are friendly and interactive with students. Sports are big part of the core of the district. Busing is still provided district wide and for all extracurricular activities. Room for improvement on the abundance of staff and especially coaches that are hired and maintained due to alumni see status. Overall a great school for all my children.
The facilities, academics, college readiness, and parent involvement were my favorite aspects of Fairfield Union Local Schools. It is not very diverse in student and teacher population and the sports teams could be more successful with coaches and such. I would recommend this school to anyone in the area.
The academics are always challenging compared to others schools I've encountered- however, they are more focused on athletics than on the kids who don't like sports. There is a clear bias in the athletes favor in almost all cases when dealing with staff, students, and teachers. It made life difficult for the students focused solely on academic success.
