I was a member of the gifted program at the intermediate and middle school level. This gave me an opportunity for advanced studies but also isolated me from the rest of the school. The program has since been disbanded.

While some teachers were marvelous, others were slightly below average. The schools also highly focus on teaching only what is required for the state tests which makes it hard for teachers to adjust their classroom to the needs of the students. Often times we feel like fish being told to climb a tree. Many of my teachers recognized this issue but because of common core there was little they could do.

Despite these issues there are many things Fairfield can be proud of. Our show choir program is one of the best in our region, earning trophies from 5 states. Our marching band also does incredibly well at OMEA competitions. In short, our musical arts program is phenomenal.

I loved my experience in high school! There were great teachers and a wonderful experience. The only problem I had was when I went to college I really wasn’t prepared for studying and time management.
I have been learning at Fairfield since Kindergarten, and I can't complain about much other than the age and condition of some of the buildings, two of which have been recently demolished and replaced. I have enjoyed most of my teachers, especially those from my fourth grade. Most of the staff provide a safe and fun learning environment for young minds like mine. I hope the same can be said for the future students of this district.
