To start, diversity wise, Fair Lawn used to be primarily white people. As an indian girl, it felt like a majority-minority situation. However, I have to say that as time passed, now, it is a lot more diverse and open. This school takes their academics seriously, which I like. Some of the sports teams aren't the most well known, but we have quite a few teams that are annual winners that take the top of the ranks. However, most of the students were on the richer and spoiled side and some of the teachers and people in general were rude. Overall, it wasn't a bad school, but it wasn't amazing either.
As a senior in Fair Lawn High School, I have enjoyed my experience here. A majority of my teachers I have gotten along with, without any complaints. I can even thank some of them for helping me with college recommendations and essay writing as well. If anything were to change, it would have to be how little Fair Lawn cares about some of its sports. I have been a member of the cross country team for four years and fencing team for one and I can say without a doubt in my mind that nobody cares about either of the sports. One of the coaches for fencing doesn't even seem like HE wants to be there. These however, are minor details and I have like the people I have met here and the experiences that I have had.
I love the amount of activities at Fair Lawn High School. The school prepares me for the real world. It has great business, art and music departments. The school also has a good and safe location, and has experienced and helpful teachers. The parents are very involved with their children and truly care about their education.
