The Evergreen School District has begun new ways of teaching and this includes lots of group learning. There are New Tech Network schools that may not cover or use textbooks thus, it is important to check to ensure state standards are taught in proper ways.

The school district has had a tough go of it because of declining enrollment and the paying of increased teacher salaries. This means that the teachers need more support in their classrooms with monies and items.

One school has very low academic scores on the California State Testing and that is an elementary school called Katherine R. Smith Elementary. If one types in School Digger and the name of any school one can view the academic information as well as other data.

The Evergreen School District still has many outstanding teachers but the guidence from the district office has not in my opinion as a parent honored the VOICE of the teachers well in the past 6 years.

I used to go there as an elementary student in that school district. It was a very nice and friendly community. The teachers are very nice and welcoming. There are a lot of different cultures and very good at college readiness. There are a bunch of activities for an elementary school. Those activities include field trips to great America and raging waters. The academics are very high expectations and the principal was very nice.
My experience overall at Evergreen Elementary has been positive. The district is known for providing a high achieving education for students and is one of the best performing school districts in California.
