Okay so, the best part would have to be the number of options offered for extracurriculars. I felt like I could pursue almost any interest I had by choosing the right classes. I went to Enid High all four years of high school and I do not regret going here. There were teachers who made a real difference in my life, they were the best people I have ever met. But my main issue with the administration, it seemed like the school was way too obsessed with its image. They were worried more about covering things up and kicking kids out rather than helping them improve. They need to educate and understand more than just throwing around punishment.
In my experience, Enid Public Schools has been overall awful. It could have been worse, but there could have been improvements that would have enhanced my educational experience. I have a disabled younger brother, and the entirety of my experience with Enid Public Schools has been negative. The administration was unkind and seemed to work against my family rather than for us. Teachers were hired based on dire need, not quality. Rules and regulations made it impossible to focus on my education because I was constantly concerned about what I was wearing, if I was talking to someone, or if my phone was visible on my person. Of course, there were exceptions, mainly teachers, who made my education a more pleasant experience, but as a whole, Enid Public Schools is a horrible district to be educated by. I would like to see better staff hired as an improvement. I would also like to see more inclusive policies and more options for disabled students. Enid Public Schools has a lot of work to do.
Enid Public schools does very good about making sure all students are happy. I would like to see enid make a change in how the school day is scheduled. Some students are not getting lunch till 1:15 everyday and I believe that is too late for kids to be having lunch and potentially can be effecting their learning ability’s. I like how enid encourages everyone to be involved with sports, choir and even academic clubs.
