Rating 4.08 out of 5 12 reviews
Elma school district has a well developed agricultural program and enthusiastic teachers. However, every year in math, English, amd history we seem to leave out part of the curriculum because we went to slow. I understand that teachers must accommodate less academically minded students, bit in doing so, they are cutting the curriculum short and leaving out important subjects.
Elma helps students who struggle with the matirial exilently, but it leaves the students who should be in an AP class unnecessary free time. My school cannot afford AP programs, the closest thing being freshman honors english. This leaves advanced students sitting in class for over half a period listening to the teacher explaining the same thing over, and over again. Almost 5 hours of school wasted, when instead of waiting for other kids to catch up, they could be doing work from other classes. Elma may be good for less than average students, but it pulls down the advanced ones.
I have been a part of the Elma School District my whole life. I have had good experiences educationally and socially. The staff have helped me to become the person I am today. Things have been tough this year since we have not be able to be in school in person. We have missed out on a lot and even though I am not physically in the HS, I know the staff are there for me if I need them.
