Ellwood City Area School District Reviews
Overall, the Ellwood City Area School District is a very good school district. This school district has amazing teachers, counselors, and administrators. The worst part about the district is the food, but that is the way it is in just about every district, so it is not a huge dealbreaker There have times where the district has made some bad decisions about a number of things, but I would recommend it to anyone.
There were both pros and cons to this district. I liked the size of the school and the classes. I also really liked the teachers that were apart of the district. The school also did a great job with college preparation. I have used a lot of information I learned in my high school courses in college. The cons though were that even though some classes prepared me for college, some didn't. The school also was not very focused on after school activities, such as the sports involved. The main focus was academics here, not sports and clubs.
Not the best school district for students who are academically minded. It is very, very easy to run out of options to challenge yourself (AP, college-level courses) by your junior year. I felt like I got the most that I could out of the school system, and that education served me well enough in college, but overall it was fairly average. I will say that the school is full of dedicated teachers who are willing to take that extra step to keep academically minded students stimulated in the classroom.
