No action on racial prejudices where evidence was given, only vague emails sent out and no action. Sexist and homophobic teachers who clearly showed favoritism, I saw many "trouble" kids be cast out and constantly set apart as opposed to being incorporated with the rest of the school. Some teachers really did take care and interest in making sure students were getting the best education, but others clearly were just there because their contracts were still paying their bills, and they didn't care to elaborate if someone didn't understand.
My experience at Ellington public schools has provided me with the opportunities of being involved in sports, clubs and community service. Ellington school system has provided me with the confidence I need to further my education. I am proud to say I am a graduate of Ellington public schools.
My experience with Ellington High School was very positive. It was a tight knit community with friendly faculty who helped me feel like an education was special and personalized. There were several administrative issues my senior year as staff changed and people retired, but other than that it was a wonderful high school.
