I think this is a great little school district that works very hard for the students and families in this district. The teachers are very caring and provide many great learning opportunities. Regarding a previous negative post, "18 school districts, 27 schools, in 6 states" seriously?!?!? Any student will struggle who moves around that much. Your problems were far more than a school or school district could be expected to solve.
I have been in the Ellicott school district since 6th grade and it has been so great. It is a small town, so a lot of people know each other, making the connection between people so much greater than if it were a school in a big district. Because the place is so small, almost everybody knows each other in the school, and we all treat each other like family. Ellicott is a great district to attend.
I would like for the teachers to teach more than they do and actually prepare me for college. I feel that they hardly ever give homework and that is setting me up for failure because I am inevitably gonna have homework while I am in college. I also feel that the school lunches could be healthier and not make as many people feel sick. The high school is too laid back and lets the students get away with things that they should be punished for. Therefore, we are left with behavioral problems and distractions from within the classroom. I feel as though the teachers are trying too hard to be friends with their students and do not want to hurt their feelings when trying to discipline them.
