I am currently a college student on winter break and have had the privilege of subbing for Laker Schools over the past few weeks. In this unique time, I was able to sub both in-person and virtually. Lakers is doing a fabulous job of keeping their students engaged, families supported, and community safe. The staff continues to bring their best each day, and the atmosphere in the halls remains positive. Additionally, Lakers has continued to prioritize their recent building projects. This goes to show the care Lakers has for the students and community alike as they are working to get these facilities up and running to foster student success. Students express daily excitement about these innovations. It is uplifting to see students getting excited about something unique during these unprecedented times. I am proud to be a Laker Alum!
I feel as if the student body and a good majority of the teachers love their school and care about each other. As anywhere there are some teachers which don’t really care and don’t provide any help. What I’d like to see change is more transparency for events and when certain things happen. Also would like event dates such as pictures etc wouldn’t be announced last second. I have loved my time here at Lakers and it’ll always be close to my heart.
I love the close-knit family aspect of this school. This school has truly helped me advance in academics at my own pace. They helped me find opportunities to further my education beyond my expectations. The teachers have always gone above and beyond to make sure I have the resources to excel whether it is for their class or not. The staff at Lakers really care about each individual student and their success not just the success of the school.
I liked how welcoming it is. Also the teachers go out of their ways to get to know their students. Throughout my time at Lakers I felt comfortable to talk to the staff about some personal issues that were happening in my life. Also I liked the amount of different activities you could be involved with.
