I credit my confidence in college preparedness to ER.
Academically, I was rarely lost. When I was confused other resources were easy to access, most notably the Chromebooks given to every student.
The school also offers AP classes dual enrollment in abundance.
I have a complaint about the honor role system. Only some students got to test to get placed in honors. I would like to see this change. Every student should be required to take the honors tests. I was never given the opportunity, so in my freshman and sophomore year in high school, my English classes were too easy for me, but because I wasn't in honors in middle school, I wasn't in honors in high school. The consequences in mathematics, however, were greater. The SAT is catered for students in the accelerated math courses. I would like to see students be given the opportunity to join the honors program later in their school careers, instead of basing it completely off of middle school performance.

Elk Rapids Schools is a very open environment supporting all students at any level of learning. From my personal experience, the staff is full of people who love to support children and young adults into the future of their dreams. The school district offers many advanced placement courses and also holds college courses in the school for students. The middle school is on of the districts international baccaloriate schools, which helps the students apply what they are learning to future real life situations and better understand how the world works.
Elk Rapids High School is a great high school to go too. It is not to big or not too small either, it’s an average sized high school and the sports team are on the rise right now. The teachers here are great, it’s just since the school is so small the teachers know about your whole backstory and are involved in your life too much. But other than that the 1 to 1 conversations are great and help out a lot.
