The Elk Grove Unified School District provides students with a great and thriving enviornment to learn in. They are able to concentrate on their work and be open to many different oppurtunities like no other district. From my experience, Sheldon High School, one of the high schools in this district, provides students with a variety of sports, art fields, and extracurriculars that fit everyone students' interests. Not to mention that the teachers also care about the students and want them to learn the subjects. My experience so far has been one of my most memorable experiences ever!
I attended school from 8th grade to senior year in high school. At first the curriculum was very challenging but the friends I made helped me to adjust and succeed. I loved all the electives that were offered in the arts as well as languages. I was in my school's Digital Media Academy for four years and developed skills that I could use a jobs in the future. I like that there are many Career Technical Education pathways. I also got to be a student ambassador for Pleasant Grove High School’s D.M.A program. I learned many soft and hard skills there. The career center and advocacy teachers did a good job at teaching us how to apply for colleges, create resumes, apply for scholarships, and more.
The Elk Grove Unified School District has been an overall good experience for me. We have good academics for all levels so you can really challenge yourself or get the help you need on some things. Franklin High School, where I currently attend has a lot of clubs to choose from and really good sports teams. Our Baseball, Softball, Track, Golf, and other sports teams are very talented. There is plenty of diversity in this school with lots of people from many different backgrounds. Our pathway classes also really help students get ready to use their skills in the real world. EGUSD is a really good school district for raising your child to become a well-rounded citizen in adulthood.
