I've been a student in Elgin for 9 years now. I have seen teachers come and go , students grow into themselves, and yet something is messing from this small town. Our school is a troubled school. We have the students who care to be there and want to learn, but there are more of the kids that don't want to be here. It seems that the teachers and principles care more about helping the ones that don;t want to be there, and not paying the schools who care enough to do their work and better themselves. I would like to see some changes made to the school where every students is treated the same whether that want to be there are not.

The only good thing about Elgin High School is their Early College High School program, in which advanced students can gain an associate degree by the time they graduate from high school. That part, I truly like and appreciate.

The food is fine and the staff is nice. But the facilities are always being reconstructed, the other day some homeless drug adict broke into the rooms outside the main building, and I have not had a teacher for three of my periods since my senior year started.
Elgin Independent School District gives you access to many different activities to keep you focused and success-bound.They give you the opportunity to participate in ECHS (Early College HighSchool) where you can get college credits through ACC while still in highschool. This as well as a good sports team and various amounts of clubs make this the perfect place to succeed in life after Highschool.
