Edmonson County Public Schools Reviews
In terms of education? Average. Most teachers are not that good and most in the middle and 5/6 center have scandal after scandal. I was forced to leave due to mental issues. I thank my teachers for their patience in my decreasing grades and their understanding attitude. Especially Mrs. Justice, Mr. Gray, Mr. Webb, and Mrs. Amber. Bullying is bad here. The work load isn't bad. The counselor in the middle school is top tier. People complain that she's never there, she is also the technical vice principal. She was great to me. I wish I had listened to her advice to make new friends. The principal isn't bad, he's just not very tolerant of what he believes "drama" is. To be fair, he's probably never experienced what I have and i don't want him to. One other review says they're "redneck xenophobic idiots". This isn't true. I stayed there since kindergarten up to 8th grade and all people of different ethnicities have thrived there just fine.
Edmonson County Public Schools are like every school. They have their fair share of fights and drama, but they are very concerned about the academics of the students and their future careers. As a senior, my class will be the first class to graduate college or career (recently changed to transitional) ready. They are doing everything they can to be sure each student is ready for college or ready to head straight into work after they graduate. Also, I would consider the Edmonson County School system to be friend and like family. Edmonson County is a small county as it is so everyone knows everyone. There are only two elementary schools that go into one, so thankfully everyone already knows each other and, maybe if you have not already met some of the other kids from the elementary school through sports or church, you are more than likely to meet another best friend.
Edmonson County is and always will be a wonderful school district. Small student body and always a great teaching force. Unlike any other school district in the nation, you couldn’t ask for better.
