Every school is different, but with my personal experience, I love the atmosphere of the schools and the school pride. The academics and opportunities were good and I had some really amazing teachers. And I love how schools would come together for a good cause. I also really appreciated how whenever there was a problem with bullying or discrimination my school was always on top of it. However, I am completely aware that this was not the case for other schools in the district. My biggest issues with my school were the lack of diversity, the lack of funding (although not the school system's fault), and the ways funds we did have we're divided. And although these issues sound problematic, I overall had a really amazing experience, opportunities that prepared me, teachers who inspired me, clubs and extracurriculars that shaped my experience for the better, and I met some really amazing people!

Edmond Public schools provide a sound education for Oklahoma, being that we are ranked in the bottom 5 of the US. Unfortunately, often the teachers are not qualified to teach their subjects appropriately. I chose a concurrent education to remove myself from the underqualified teachers that the Administration supports. Edmond North pushes AP classes more than concurrent. This is a mistake due to some of their teachers. There is a huge issue with Vaping on all Edmond High school and Middle School Campuses. Clearly, Edmond is behind the curve on eliminating this issue. If the Administration focused on the students as much as they do Balto Week then it could provide a better education. For Oklahoma Edmond is a good school system. In the future, they need to enhance their academic program to be equal to their football field. Money is being spent in the wrong places in my opinion. Education should be first!
As a former student of the Edmond Public Schools district, my experience has been nothing short of great! When I moved to Oklahoma from Nevada, I was in second grade. I was nervous but the teachers immediately welcomed me into their classrooms and really pushed my fellow pupils and I to be the greatest version of ourselves. As I went onto middle school, my teachers began to push us harder and challenge us to critically think which is a skill that I will always cherish. Being in Oklahoma, one grows to learn the importance of sports, which Edmond Public schools takes seriously. As I graduated onto high school, I learned that basketball and football were the two sports that the school district takes pride in, especially when we play our rivals. School spirit is instilled into each student the moment they step through the doors but being a role model for your peers is what is most important. As I look back as a class of 2020 graduate, I am proud to have went through Edmond Public Schools.
