Hey! I'm a Sophomore, and I've lived in Eden Prairie for 13 years. I've always been extremely pleased with my school district. The staff and teachers are positive, helpful, creative and inspirational. For example, I'm a Sophomore at Eden Prairie High School. Every Monday our principal, Mr. McCartan, will give a short inspirational message and quote over the loudspeaker. I've also had teachers calm me down during panic attacks, and be willing enough to work with me and my schedule if I feel overwhelmed by trying to balance school and extracurriculars. The kids here are also very polite and welcoming, and its an overall positive enviroment to be in.
Eden Prairie High School is famous for its advanced academics and stellar sporting teams. Unfortunately, what the Eden Prairie School Board fails to mention is the fact that the student's voice means little to nothing. From racial awareness meetings to microaggression training, Eden Prairie Schools lack representation from the students themselves. The staff knows what they are teaching almost flawlessly. The students are interactive and thrive off of new experiences. If only the school board could acknowledge the problems that Eden Prairie students are having. The school also completely fails to help students with mental illnesses. But thank God that our football and hockey teams went to state.
Teachers are passionate! There is a wide variety of class materials, as well as college readiness and a general sense that the school cares about you. Spanish immersion elementary school as well.
