This school is not very diverse at all. There are a limited amount of courses offered especially for honors students. Sports suck and the teachers do not care for the students at all.
Great School with great opportunities for students. Teachers are helpful and care about their students success. I also love being able to attend the Jackson Area Career Center for Visual Communications as part of my school day.
I am only just begun, but my experience has been good. The format has taken me a little while to get used to, but I have been able to complete all of my assignments with plenty of time left before the due date. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that the modules are locked and you can’t work ahead.
It is a great school with a strong community. The teachers are in it for the students benefit not the paycheck.
East Jackson is a caring community but lacks opportunity for students. What i mean by this is that our electives are slim pickings. The most enjoyable class we can sign up for is rockery \ robotics. These classes are not enough to make high school enjoyable.
The acedemics aren’t the best but there are a few hidden gem teachers in the high school and although it extremely difficult to make good quality friends there, once you do you’ll realize that the school isn’t so bad. There are always things going on and the teachers are very forgiving when it comes to late work.
The community is very involved in the children, and the school district overall. However, since the community is small, the school has begun getting low on money more and more for the past several years. They have cut funding for extra-curricular groups and even elective classes, such as Art, even lying to teachers that enough students didn't sign up so that they could cut the class.
East Jackson is a close community who has been doing many improvements to the school. It is quite impressive, after attending East Jackson since first grade it seemed like things were not going to change very easily. Until we received a new superintendent and athletic director.
It was an alright school learned "What I needed to know" but that was about it. Teachers did put extra effort into helping me some not all though also many of the teachers are very nice people. The leadership of the school is poor they seem to always be making bad decisions with many programs to keep and buildings to get rid of.
