East Greenbush Central School District Reviews
I really have no complaints when it comes to my schooling. I have attended East Greenbush Schools all the way from kindergarten through my Senior year of High school. I spent time at Genet Elementary, Howard L. Goff Middle School, and finally Columbia High School. I was involved in sports for most of my years including Football, Lacrosse, and our Section Champion Wrestling team. I have spent time in clubs such as the NYS Mentoring Program and the school paper as well as being a member of the East Greenbush branch of the National Honors Society. I have nothing negative to say about my time there and can never remember not wanting to go to school. I was always excited to be going another week, and I'm sad that my time is coming to a close. I would tell any families looking to enroll in the best of the best to come to East Greenbush and truly experience the best education there is to offer.
I love how safe the school is. However, I do not like how uniform students are when it comes to race. I feel as though the more diverse the school is, more an be brought to the table. Overall the school is very clean and relatively pristine. The lacrosse and soccer fields need substantial help with drainage. The tennis courts are cracking and the wind screens are ripping. I feel as though there needs to be a better option for drop off and pickup.
The East Greenbush school district may place too much of the budget on sports teams that do poorly, have the earliest start time in the area, and rather terrible cafeteria food, but it is still an arguably fantastic high school. Columbia High School may have its faults but it also has its Highlights . The teachers available to the students generally care about their job and doing it right so that students are truly pushed to success in the future. They inspire a desire to put in the effort to do well and succeed. Many support students outside the classroom in our many clubs and activities ranging from our nationally ranked Science Olympiad team to the frisbee club, to our various community service organizations, and every thing in between. Both academic and recreational support are everywhere you look there is always a place you will be welcomed no matter who you are.
