Rating 4 out of 5 16 reviews
When I joined Eagle Ridge Academy, I thought I was going to over-exert myself and eventually get burnt out. I had to do so many essays, presentations, twenty math problems, write speeches, prepare Latin translations, and study for tests. It was really overwhelming. But as time went by, I noticed what I was doing wrong; I had been managing my time incorrectly the entire time. So one night, I sat down, created a time-table for myself and followed that the next day. I was astonished at how I finished everything in that to-do list/time-table. I was organized, I did not panic over the thought of forgetting anything, and I turned in my assignments on time. But the worst part was lunch. Lunch in Eagle Ridge Academy should be much more delectable and appetizing; sometimes we got burnt pizzas and sometimes we got undercooked chicken. The point is that even though this school is academically exceling, there are tiny loopholes that need to be fixed to make this school an even better place.
Eagle Ridge Academy is known as a challenging school, and it has definitely earned that reputation. During my time at ERA I have learned a lot and gained valuable experience. However at times it is difficult to balance outside activities with school work due to the expectations the school has set for its students. While figuring out how to manage everything is overwhelming, it has also taught me valuable time management skills. I think a good way to combat the high expectations the school sets would be providing more resources for students with extracurriculars to get help on homework or studying for tests.
It has gone down hill over the years! Most of the teachers who cared about education were driven out, and the school has turned away from the college readiness aspects and is just an average school.
