Not only is this school district a supportive and caring boost, but it is also an inspiration. The people and staff put students first and that is what is needed in a successful district. During my eleven and a half years attending schools in the Eagle Pass Independent School District, I have never felt alone while finding my true passion. Counselors and teachers in this district have been what caused me to find my way through this mind-blowing world. Overall, my experience with Eagle Pass Independent School District has been a wonderful ride, and is saddening to know I will not be a part of it in two and a half years.
There are many thing that could be improved in our district. They focus on our attendance more than anything. They prioritize that over our education, our well being, our voices. The school District does its best to make us seem like a normal high school but coming from a poor county sometimes it feel like they waste money on unnecessary items.
I like that some teachers are very involved and care about impacting the students. I wish there were more club options available and more resources on all the clubs and activities in an accessible list. I would also prefer if resources and options for post-secondary education became available earlier on in high school, not just in junior or senior year.
