Duanesburg Central School District Reviews
My experience through the Duanesburg school systems was very positive, the teachers and staff fostered a close knit, comforting environment. The district offers a unique small town experience where everybody knows everybody. The teachers obviously care about their students and want the best for them. Unfortunately, small towns mean small budget so the options for extracurricular activities and certain programs struggle to be funded.
I am so incredibly thankful to have grown up in such a small town and therefore a close-knit school. I have developed such close relationships with teachers and have received extra help for anything I need. My education has flourished through college level classes, in which I feel I have developed crucial college skills that will lead me to a successful career. Besides academics, one thing I would change about the school is their involvement with bullying policies. Although many schools have recently pervasively placed signs on walls preaching that bullying is prohibited, I have seen Duanesburg High School neglect bullying in plain sight. I believe there needs to be stronger support systems, including trained professionals, instead of only guidance counselors, who students can comfortably come to for mental health purposes.
I loved my time at Duanesburg. I found it to be not only rewarding but academically beneficial to me to have such close relationships with my teachers and classmates. Though the classes available to students are limited, the teachers always put in effort to challenge students who were looking to excel.
