Dowagiac Union School District Reviews
I loved feeling like a part of a family at Dowagiac Schools. I loved the personal and academic connections you could make with the staff of the schools. Going back to the school always warms my hear to see the improvements they are doing on the building and the style of learning. Dowagiac's teaching styles are fantastic, and the teachers are very open with the class work. The administration is very concerned as to parent and student concern, as well as the safety and academic perspectives of everyone involved in the school. The school environment is very inclusive and welcoming every year or time you spend in the school.
It’s very average academically speaking. The main problem is that the vast majority of the funding goes to football, rather than giving any support to other activities such as band and robotics. Also there was no preparation for college, only for the SAT in terms of English. In math, the advanced students were given no prep at all for the SAT.
I absolutely loved my high school! It was the most interesting 4 years of my life! I really loved the fact that I can see people succeed after they walk out of the high school and graduate and find their passions in life! The one thing I would change within this school district would probably be expanding our education.
