Growing up in Dover, it is a smaller town. The school thrives off it's ability to showcase sports. Thanks to the schools athletic attention, I was considered an outcast. The one nice thing about the district is that there are some hidden gems among the staff that made my, and many other students, feel welcome. Thanks to the staff, our school did have excellence awards and high Standardized Test ratings. If there was one main problem, other than acceptance, it would be the blackmailing culture that the education system has been using for years. Dover City schools have all the tools provided to properly maintain the building, yet every year there is always some need for a levy. Every single year I watched as programs got cut to fund the school, students where told they were not allowed to have activities such as field trips, and messages were sent telling parents they would see no progress unless they complied to the demands.

Dover City Schools are just great. They are kid friendly, and has many activities for everyone. Football, basketball, soccer, tennis and golf. They also have clubs like SAFE, chess club, art club, and many others. Dover is a great place for a family. The teachers and staff are so sweet and nice. They help make sure their childern understand the material and works with them to better their future. I spent four years here and I loved every moment. Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a kid friendly, raising a family, Dover City Schools District is the place.
Overall, the teachers and staff are amazing. They have helped students in ways that are unimaginable. A safe place for kids to go where people actually care about education and how you are doing outside of school.
