It's a district with an easy program for students. It isn't really challenging considering all of the learning departments are under-funded and football is over-funded. The material is taught to the lowest-possible-common denominator causing most students to get upset with the teachers, but it truly isn't their fault. The math department is the worst offender considering how all of the teachers got their teaching degrees from a farmer's market.

The only other foul mark is the lack of college readiness. I once went into the counselor's office to ask about what my steps for going into college should be. I was told that I should look it and then was promptly kicked out of that office.

Otherwise, it's an alright experience.

There are a few absolutely wonderful teachers throughout the Douglas School System, however on average the teachers are poor. Many students face major issues with specific teachers, which goes ignored by school officials, despite parent complaints. The school size is decent, since class sizes are small, however the population has began to outgrow the school infrastructure itself. In addition, compared to students in other states, the douglas curriculum does not seem nearly as advanced.
The entire time that I have been a student at Douglas most of the teachers are strict, with a few more legient teachers and staff. The grading scale is tougher to pass on as it is not a 10 point grading scale. Douglass uses a 7 point grading scale.
