Douglas County School District Reviews
This school is great! It has a fairly new STEM building with great facilities for science and math, anything relatively technical. the community is great both in the school and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Staff is friendly and helpful. And with newly appointed principal it is better than ever.
Douglas is a small town. The teachers make the work environment feel safe as well as make themselves available outside of school hours to ensure the success of their students. The curriculum is not overwhelming but does provide enough to prepare you for what to expect later on in life. The school quality overall is very clean and the faculty members definitely take pride in this. Finally, I believe that this school is in a setting where students are able to succeed in the classroom as well as in their day to day lives.
The access to resources and willingness of the teachers to help students understanding makes up for the fact that we live in one of the lowest rated states for education. The schools are well kept in terms of hygiene and aesthetic. the district tries it best to diversify after school activities and encourages us to get involved with our community. At the high school level they always had the latest job listings to help students find work if needed. The staff is overall very sympathetic towards the lives of students and try to adapt as needed. Douglas county is a very descent place to go to school even if it's not the best in education by comparison.
