As a Dollarway high school student, I can honestly say that I am proud to be a Dollarway Cardinal. I began attending school in Dollarway in August 2019. I became well acquainted with my band mates. Along with my close friends, came a large group of associates. I became apart of activities that required me to speak and present myself in front of the entire school. Dollarway School Distinct has it faults and there is more that the students need education on, but we are in a good starting place.
This school is nice, but overly controlling. Uniforms are a big issue here, and so are hoodies. I was fine with the school until they issued planners that must be with us at all times, including the use of the restroom. We can go to our lockers I believe at least three times although we've paid for them. Also, I take AP classes, so I'm constantly carrying heavy books and binders and teachers get angry when we bring a lot of stuff to their classes although it is not our fault that we cannot go to our lockers.
I liked that Dollarway always payed homage to all the yesteryear classes. I believe that they should change the way that they engage with their students. Some of the teachers only come to work to get a check and not to teach. So once again, I believe that the teachers and faculties should change the way they interact with their students.
