Dodgeville School District Reviews
The Dodgeville School District is a very safe district whose tight community makes the students feel welcome and connected to one another. The public schools are filled with kind and knowledgeable teachers and staff. The schools are constantly working to improve as shown by the "Safety Circles" discussions implementation in the schools. There are a wide variety of classes, including Advanced Placement classes, though this can always be expanded upon. A majority of the teachers provide a challenging curriculum while also offering aid to struggling students. A focus of the school is the connections between students and staff and among students. They have mailed out cards from a teacher the student currently has to tell their parents how well their student is doing as well as provide support to the students. A recent survey was done to see who students were connecting and making sure they had an adult that they could talk to.
The Dodgeville School District works together to ensure that its students are working hard and prospering throughout their educational journey. I enjoy the bonds between people that is created in our school district as a result of the close community that everyone has created. Although it may be a great place for students and teachers to succeed, I would change the way students are recognized for their hard work and effort in school and athletics. Even though the district gives many opportunities for students to get ahead of their peers, many seem to never be recognized for the work they have done. I would change this as everyone is able to get some form of recognition in order to boost the confidence of students so they will be able to continue prospering throughout school and also when they move on the college or even in the future career that they choose for themselves.
Dodgeville provides a great education and learning environment. At the high school, the academics are challenging and rewarding. There are many extra curricular events for students to take part in and get to know each other which is easy since the school is just the right size about 100-125 per class so approximately 450 in the school. The teachers know every student by name and do whatever it takes to help them succeed. The high school was recently remodeled and added to which makes the environment modern and accommodating.
