I have been going to this district for about 5-6 years. When I first arrived, my math level was higher than they had, so I was supposed to be pushed to the next level. However the school district was going to require me to go to the high school through my own transportation which I didn’t have. So I was forced to stay at the lower level. The following year I was place in advanced math, but I basically had to retake it again in high school. Now they have a better system, but it came in after me. At the high school all of the AP and Honors courses are diverse and available to all. The teachers are great within those subjects. The agriculture department is amazing too, I have been provided with so many opportunities. Overall I have had a great experience with this school district.

What I liked about Dixon Unified School District is the amount of care they have for their students. Members from the board are consistently visiting the High School to check up on students. One thing I would like to see change is their process of notifying citizens. Often times, people are notified very late about events or changes which causes a lot of people to be angry.
While certainly fit with the resources to support its students, more upper-division classes and after school programs would help a lot.
