Dixon Unified School District Reviews
Overall, this district and community is nothing but positive. The teachers, students, and staff all take into consideration how we will impact each other. I do wish that there were more programs and such but obviously right now that isn’t a very big concern. The health and safety of students has been put into consideration and never goes disregarded. The school board policies that have been adopted by the county and other schools could be changed a bit but again, they were adopted so that isn’t a huge concern. I love this district and hope to continue being able to say nothing but positive things about it.
I have practically been in the Dixon Unified School District system since the beginning of my education and so from my experience I would say if was like any other. The campuses are always kept clean and neat while their beauty are always admired by visitors. The administers and teachers always leave mark on their students even I still visit my middle schools' because they genuinely care for me. Although there are several difficult students and many clicks making friends does tend to be difficult and there is much drama that spreads through the walls and distracts students from their education. That goes without saying the education for which it is received is below average of what I would expect. While the work tends to look easy and undeniably is, I did not learn much of what I should and had to rely on teachers online to explain the subject at hand.
I have been going to this district for about 5-6 years. When I first arrived, my math level was higher than they had, so I was supposed to be pushed to the next level. However the school district was going to require me to go to the high school through my own transportation which I didn’t have. So I was forced to stay at the lower level. The following year I was place in advanced math, but I basically had to retake it again in high school. Now they have a better system, but it came in after me. At the high school all of the AP and Honors courses are diverse and available to all. The teachers are great within those subjects. The agriculture department is amazing too, I have been provided with so many opportunities. Overall I have had a great experience with this school district.
