De Soto High School was a great place filled with great teachers. They always tried to get students involved in all of the activities and the teachers always went the extra mile! However. I’d like to see that students are more informed on the available activities each year instead of the same students being repetitively casted/put on the team. Everyone should have a fair chance and be aware of the events going on in the school. Overall, De Soto High School was a great experience for me and everyone I’ve talked to, but there are still things that could make the atmosphere more inclusive!

I believe DeSoto is a great school district that provides lots of opportunities for every student. I have been in the district since kindergarten and I have received a great education. Almost all of my teachers have really cared and pushed me to be a better student. I think that the district is highly focused on academics but also places an importance on each student becoming well rounded. There is definitely a community feel in the schools and I think that on a daily basis most of my peers are happy and genuinely want to be at school. The district has also focused a lot of attention on bullying awareness and prevention which I find very important. I have never felt unsafe at school and I know that any bullying will be taken extremely seriously. One thing that I would like to see the district improve on is diversity. Although our area is predominantly white, the district could do a much better job of finding a more diverse staff and making diversity a priority.
My experience with the DeSoto School district has been nothing but positive. The vast majority of teachers put forth an immense amount of effort in creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. At DeSoto High school specifically, the teachers as well as the students do a great job at creating a family environment and are extremely welcoming. The DeSoto school district is perfect for anyone who wants teachers who care, and a learning environment that is open, and caring.
