De Soto High School was a great place filled with great teachers. They always tried to get students involved in all of the activities and the teachers always went the extra mile! However. I’d like to see that students are more informed on the available activities each year instead of the same students being repetitively casted/put on the team. Everyone should have a fair chance and be aware of the events going on in the school. Overall, De Soto High School was a great experience for me and everyone I’ve talked to, but there are still things that could make the atmosphere more inclusive!

The desoto school district is one of the best in the nation. It has many different programs of a variety of subjects. There is a wide variety of college credit opportunities through the local community college, beyond the many AP courses offered.
I would like to call special attention to their accommodations. The faculty and teachers are dedicated in helping every student succeed despite disabilities. Students with phones that connect to a CGM are able to keep their phones with them despite the bell to bell no phone policy.
This school is the first in Kansas to add gender identity to their non-discrimination policy.
I am currently a Junior at Mill Valley High School and Desoto Unified School District has helped prepare me for college. My teachers are very supportive of my fellow students and I, and they will go out of their way to make sure evyone understands a lesson or unit that we cover. Many students who struggle in other school districts that have moved to Desoto have flourished and preform well in school and on state and standardized tests. Coaches at Mill Valley and in the district are very well known and work well with teams and players individually. The school district also provides many necessities for students such as individual laptops and adobe software that students will be able to conduct hands on learning with that will prepare them for college courses/classes.
