Derry School District Reviews
I have been in the Derry School District since kindergarten and I have thrived off of the education system. Not only do Derry residents go to Pinkerton Academy, but five other towns do as well. Pinkerton is also the largest high school in New Hampshire with whopping 3,000 students and many more. Although the district is amazing, we also have a drug problem and there are more Caucasian people than people of color. The Derry School District is a wonderful place to be none the less.
Being a Student at this high school i know a few things about it. One thing i know is that most of the people working there are just looking to get a paycheck. Many of the teachers and staff don't truly want to educate the students. What they want is high test score so they can get more grant money. That is just the education aspect though, other things such as sports and clubs are very nice. I believe that the coaches care about the students that they are training. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the school which i respect.
I am a very independent learner, so most of my personal success comes from my own initiative incorporated into my school work. At Derry, communication is difficult, and many opportunities for students are missed. They do not have many career-prep courses, nor do they offer any guidance when applying to college or working on your college search.
