Derry Area School District Reviews
In my honest opinion about Derry Area High School, is that it is truthfully just a typical small town type of school. There is a lot of down to earth and relatable people and were a very close and proud community to say the least, especially when it comes to our school spirit. Some things that I think would be helpful to our school and everyone that is in it is to have issues or problems we have to be handled better. Such as helping others struggling in and outside of school or what they may be dealing with in their life. Along with faculty and adults listening and understanding us students as a whole we address and issue or problem we have to try and make the school a better environment in all aspects in having a fun high school experience and good education.
Derry Area High School is full of people that want you to succeed. Anyone from the teachers, administration and coaches to the lunch ladies and janitors are welcoming and friendly towards all students. Everyone here knows each other on a name to name basis. There's rarely any bullying. If the school was in a more diverse, accepting environment and the facilities were more modern, I would give higher ratings. The college counseling is also little to none, which is unfortunate and frustrating to a senior.
Almost every teacher I had did everything to make sure I was getting the highest quality education possible. I loved my time at Derry Area, and if it weren't for some of the administration and school board members, I would absolutely give my school a five star rating.
