Deptford township school is a great place to bring kids up in, that is if they are pretty average. There are students that do achieve many great things but the ones who don’t get pushed aside. Being a student involved in the biomedical academy I have been put above other students which in my case is great. But I do see the other side of things, the students that get pushed along just so they can graduate. The school promotes that they are pushing students to their full potential but they are doing the opposite. Even though as a student myself I am pushed by most teachers there are some that can care less. Luckily I am a driven student whereas not as motivated students will just be put aside with that bad teacher. Other than this deptford really is a great school full of spirit but when you get a look behind the scenes it’s everything but that.

Deptford High School is a great school and helps you identify what you are interested in. I am a student from a different country and DHS gave me the same opportunities to be involved in all the clubs that I’m interested in and also to be in the Business Academy. Personally I am involved in many school clubs and activities such as Future Business Leaders of America( FBLA), Culture club where we students are going different trips during the weekend. I’m also in the girls tennis team where I meet great people each year and have an amazing time. Even though I wouldn’t change school if I had the opportunity there are some things that I don’t like about DHS. One example could be the food they serve in the cafeteria. The food seems old and doesn’t taste very nice. Although they have some healthy choices too if someone likes, for example fruits, but even those are not tasting nice.
From the four year duration of my attendance at Deptford Township High School, I have experienced a tremendous about of joy. At the same time, there are the times where I wish I never went to this paticualar school. My school is predominantly caucasian and I am an African American female. With that being said alone, I am already treated differently. I have had teachers say racist statements to me during class. I’ve also had students say derogatory words to me and the teachers not before any type of discipline. In addition, I aslo feel as though my school does not have any school spirit which leaves a cold feelings when you walk into the building.
