There are a lot of nice people willing to help you when you are stuck with a question on homework or class assignment. They are very motivated with education and all students should receive that education. The only change I would hope to see is that they upgrade the English department, so that they are up to par with all the other schools in the New York State.
Overall education is great, teachers move as fast or slow that kids need to learn. Very small school so everyone knows everyone. Great little community.
The teachers are very kind and supportive, for the most part. But the administration jumps from either too involved in student life or not involved at all. There aren't very many clubs, and the school is lacking in diversity. They put too much focus on sports, and not enough on the arts. However, most day to day issues are quickly taken care of, and someone is almost always on hand to help with college plans.
Deposit school offers many electives so you do not have to have so much free time, it opens up your eyes to career choices you would not necessary think about. Bully free zone, Tobacco free zone.
Deposit is a very nice, quaint school. It has very nice teachers and small class sizes where everybody knows each other and teachers take the time to get to know each and every student. It definitely has its flaws, like any other school. One example would be the fact that most of the budget goes into sports and very little goes towards the arts. There is also not many clubs or activities, but the ones that do exist are great. There is a lack of a theatre department, but the theatre teacher tries to put on a school play every year that I have participated in with joy. The school itself is not very diverse at all, but this is due to the small town area. But nonetheless, DCS is in a pretty area of New York, and is small, but not exactly boring. I rate it 4 stars out of 5.
Deposit is a very small and tight-knit school. The small nature gives a very personal feel when dealing with teachers, students, and faculty. If you are from the area you will more than likely come across a teacher that has taught a family member or is a family friend which makes the lessons feel more personal. The teaching staff is very friendly and helpful, if there is an issue they have no problem working one on one with students to resolve them. The class size is always small allowing the lessons to be personalized and giving way to an education experience that really sticks. The athletics is very clique based and if you are not part of a team or into an organized sport you can find yourself feeling on the outside, but there is always a niche where you can fit in. The teachers will always accommodate these students and make you feel at home.
