Dayton Independent School District Reviews
Dayton Independent School district is not a bad place for kids to grow and learn. They have well rounded elementary schools and middle schools. The high school experience here is definitely an experience. In my time here I have not noticed very much physical bullying because for the most part, students aren't concerned with hurting each other for no apparent reason. I mean of course you'll find a fight in the hallways every now and then but I think that's everywhere. The food is alright for a public school, teachers are mostly nice and very helpful. School spirit could be better but most of the extracurricular activities are stellar. Overall I'd say it's a great place to send your kids.
While Dayton High School contains its very well selected curriculum by the department heads of each core subject, there tends to always be a factor that will allow for unnecessary intrusion. In other words, what some feel is best for students and teachers, stay narrow-minded believing only in their solution. Rather than to comply with others, authority is taken in to their hands leaving the students without the best possible education from its teachers' potentials.
So far my high school career has been pretty decent. Most teachers do care about their students and will take action during a situation. Almost all faculty and staff have been former students of Dayton High School, as well as living there for all, or most of their lives. Therefore, showing their commitment to the community. Although Dayton High School is very caring and full of school spirit, I feel like there is not a lot of safety measures taken into precaution.
