The academics in the school offer different teachers for each class giving you an option of different teaching styles. Each teacher cares about the classes stye teach and offer help after class if needed. As a former student, I tried to be involved in clubs and after school activities. There are many different clubs to be involved in that accommodate different interests. There have been sports teams added to the school recently for students and each team is successful in different ways. The school has an amazing fine arts building for chorus, band, and art with a huge auditorium used for many activities beyond our school functions. A college academy has also been recently built to hold CORE college classes for the students in the high school. Dual enrollment is also an option for juniors or seniors to get a start on their college career. The administration is very friendly from when you walk through the door to when the board of education.

Dawson County schools offered great lunches for the students, and great meal plans for the kids who were underprivileged. I wish Dawson County would enforce their no-bullying policy more in each of their schools.
I’ve been in Dawson since I was 3 and it’s truly been amazing. Although recently my encounters with several teachers have been awful, it’s still be great. The teachers that put serveral of us at a disadvantage had nothing happen to them. Some deserved to be fired from their actions. But overall it’s been great and I can’t wait for the rest of my high school experience.
