Rating 3.96 out of 5 23 reviews
Some of the best parts about the Darien School District are the rigorous academics and the high-level sports. Additionally, there are numerous clubs students can join, from business to poetry. However, most students attending Darien Public schools are very high achieving, and tend to compete with one another whether that be through academics, sports, leadership roles, or others. Additionally, while the academics are very good for this school district, it often leads to "burnout" among students, because of how much homework we receive, on top of all the extracurriculars we have. I would like to see more resources available to students, similar to the Math learning connections room in the morning; certain hours for each subject where students can come and review/learn topics missed in class and gain a better understanding
Darien is a wonderful, safe and competitive place to grow up. The school district is consistently highly rated on this website as well as US News and others for good reason. Darien High School is a challenging place at times, but the teachers and staff there really prepare you for your next steps whether they may include college or something else. The parental involvement is integral to the school community as well. I could not ask for a better place to experience K-12.
Although a great school, I feel like we need more help. Not just creating a wellness center, but creating an easier, more comfortable school environment. As students, not only do our families and even ourselves hold our standard high, but there is so much pressure put on us because of how advances this school is
