Darien High School is an incredible school for college preparation, but the atmosphere can be stifling. The school is a pipeline for Ivy League kids and future hedge fund managers, and it offers incredible AP classes and even beyond. For parents, make sure to realize that your kids are under intense pressure both socially and academically, and for students, whether the school tells you or not: IT'S OK TO FAIL!
I am a Senior at Darien High School. Throughout the past four years, I have been given many opportunities to explore different interests through clubs and academic classes. I feel as if the teachers at DHS do an excellent job at preparing their students for college level work. At times, the amount of homework given can create a significant amount of stress, but the school provides many resources to help relive some of the pressure. Sports play an important part in the lives of many of the students attending DHS. Although the school lacks diversity, DHS is a great school to attend.
Awesome teachers, very challenging. Will prepare all students very well for college. Had an awesome experience, highly recommend!
