In my opinion, Danville is a slightly above average school system. At this small school you will see more one-on-one time with teachers than any bigger school. Like most schools, however, Danville needs to see some change. The town in general needs to include more of it's funding to the school. With a referendum, we can see some changes in the outdated building from the 1970s. I would also like to see more inclusion and diversity in the school. Danville is a pretty suburban town with outdated beliefs that are in desperate need of change.
Danville Community School Corporation has truly allowed me to excel as a student. I have been given all of the information and materials needed to be successful. The teachers work very hands on to ensure the student is given the best opportunities possible. They offer several college courses, along with many unique electives like photography and ceramics.
The administration does the best they can resource wise, but they are fairly limited due to the size of the school system. The teachers and administrators we have come in contact have been very caring and compassionate to the needs of the students. Athletics programs are above normal, but music program is woefully underdeveloped and supported. As the school system grows, academic offerings will need to be expanded in order to remain competitive, and facilities will need to be overhauled, but for now both are sufficient and we are happy with our decision to move into this district.
