Cupertino Union School District Reviews
Very diverse community - but high-stress and competitive environment. The food around the community is great - especially with the new Main Street across from the Cupertino High School. The housing of course is expensive. Great schools are difficult to reach if you are a low-income family.
Very good staff, friendly environment although at times teaching may be a bit lacking but nonetheless very good.
I liked Cupertino Union School District. In seventh and eighth grade, there are a lot of different classes that you can take that don't necessarily seem like "college prep" classes- such as jewelry or woodworking. The teachers aren't necessarily personable (that comes more in high school), but they are trying to help you succeed. Classes are usually interesting, as long as you pay attention to the teachers and get your work done. The library is a great place to hang out, and sometimes there is origami paper and an origami book there. The library also has many computers, which are good if you want to finish homework at school. Sports aren't necessarily school-wide events, but they're still important to some people. The food is not that filling; it's mostly just a bunch of one-dollar snacks. All in all, Cupertino Middle School was a fun place to hang out and make friends at.
Mostly great teachers and experience, but board/superintendents have not been as helpful and dependable as they should be (ex: secretaries are underpaid ans underappreciated, fired superintendent right after her contract was renewed).
This school has given me an opportunity and experience I will take into college. I am extremely grateful for the people whom I've associated with in which I am proud to call myself a graduating Cupertino High School student. This school provides diversity with a wide range of excellent teachers.
CUSD is a good school district with a variety of enriching extracurricular programs. I was a student in the CUSD for 8 years and enjoyed my experience at school as well as volunteering at or attending events at other schools within the district. The teachers are very welcoming and encouraging and many events are organized by the PTA which is well organized and dedicated.
