The teachers were great but the school focused all of their attention onto the football team and whatever was left on the other sports teams. Being in the fine arts department, my friends and I were never given recognition for contests and were excluded from participating in senior week because “choir doesn’t really have competitions in the fall”. Yes, yes we do. Our valedictorian’s photo wasn’t even in the students section of the yearbook, he was just left out.
Cuero Independent School District has been my home since Pre-K , and I've loved every second of it. It is a small community where everyone knows and cares for each other. Academically, the students are held to a higher standard and are given the required tools to do so. The teachers are amazing and give their students equal attention and support. CISD also offers many programs, sports, clubs, and much more for the students’ different interests. In my opinion, Cuero Independent School District is an excellent place, not only for college and career readiness, but also to help develop strong, independent student leaders. The many students who have graduated from CISD and became successful are proof. Once a Gobbler always a Gobbler.
Being a Cuero High School student, it’s allowed me to think about my future as i’m around individuals who are ambitious like me.
