Council Rock is well known for its exceptional academic rating and teachers as well as it's music and theatre departments. There are so many opportunities to get involved at the high school level. Unfortunately, it lacks quite a bit in student community. Students and families rarely participate in school events or attend extracurricular events such as theater performances and games/meets. It would be wonderful if the community could work together to create a better and healthier environment for the students that attend these schools because nothing is more important to children than an involved and compassionate community to be a part of their growth.

If you have a special needs child - this is NOT the district for you.
After many years of dealing with them, I can attest to the fact that they provide only what they deem appropriate. If you are educated enough to realize that you can ask for more, they will fight you tooth and nail, to avoid doing so, due to the costs involved.
I have had to utilize education advocates, mental health professionals, and education lawyers - most of which were to no avail. The few instances CR did what they were supposed to were due to liability issues. In other words, I had them over a barrel and that is the reason they decided to do the 'right thing'.
That said, I have another child with no issues, no IEP and his education went smoothly.
Morale of the story - if you are deciding to send your child to this school district and you child has special needs and an IEP - run, don't walk, and take your school tax dollars elsewhere!
I believe that Council Rock is a district with a great reputation, that upholds. At my time at Council Rock North, I have connected with my teachers academically and personally. The staff genuinely wants to see their students succeed and works hard to see them do so. I believe I have learned a lot socially and academically at CRN and believe I am ready for college!
